We have created this blog to tell Joshua's story. Josh was born in 2007 with a congenital heart defect, Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS - only half of his heart developed) & has undergone 3 open heart surgeries, pacemaker placement as well as surgery to repair his paralyzed diaphragm. He had a very rough beginning, and has hit some bumps along the way but amazes us every day with his ability to live a very active life. Follow us as we try to keep up with him!

At 17 months Joshua...
anxiously watches for Semi-trucks as we drive & yells "tractor" when he sees one
walks the whole way around the block
reminds me he needs his meds
hides toys in the toilet (this is bad)

At 16 months Josh...
says 15-20 words 'Amen', 'Grandma' & 'Doctor' (his newest words)

How do they come up with these climbing creations?? Kamryn thinks it's hilarious how he created little steps and got up on the table. Can't wait until Owen discovers he can move.
Oh dear. Well isn't he just too pleased with himself. Good thing he's a cutie or he could get in some serious trouble :)

Abby came to me in the kitchen & said "Mom, Callie has Joshua in a dangerous place & you should come NOW!"
I was surprised/scared to find him balancing a top a chair like that...but I had to grab the camera because his smirk was too funny to pass up! And he did not want me to take him down!
Callie swears she had nothing to do with it...but I don't think he could have lifted the chair without some help.
I wouldn't turn my back on Callie or Josh.
He looks so happy. I bet he liked your reaction.

Josh looks so cute in that picture! Love his smile! How creative kids can get at such a young age!
