naughty & nice

This week has been kind of busy for me for a few reasons. First, because I'm helping throw a baby shower on Saturday, which will be lots of fun! And second, I am a leader of the Young Women's group at church & we are taking the girls on an over night trip this weekend (I'm coming home late Friday night, can't stay over night with Sammy on my hip).  I've spent the week preparing for both of these events.  Today was the day I did some baking for the shower, I'm making a polka-dot cake. Simple enough...that is, until a certain 2 year old conveniently found his way to the counter top & poked each polka-dot with his grubby little finger! Ugh!!!!

That was the naughty, now on to the nice....because after all, he is a nice kid.
The other day we were hanging out with Josh's aunt Carrie & he asked her to take him to Old Navy. She laughed & asked him why he wanted to go to Old Navy.  He told her in his sweet little raspy voice "So I can buy you a ball!"
What a sweet gesture from a 2 year old boy!

(To be fair, I was able to salvage about 8 of my nearly 100 dots. He didn't ruin every one of them.)

Old Navy balls...I remember those days. Carter was about Josh's age when if we went in there and attempted to not get a ball we were in for some serious regret! It eventually turned into bribery. We have so many of those things around our house!

The nice stories are always so cute but I love the naughty ones!

A certain sister's baby shower?!?! I hope there are lots of pictures after, if that is the case.

Your polka dot cake is precious. Josh was just adding some character. I am sure Carrie will love it that much more now that it has Josh's 92 stamps of approval.

I think the people at Old Navy have probably made more money off the balls than their clothes--it was a GENIUS idea.

So I don't get it...does he love me or hate me? Just kidding, I know I'm his favorite (second only to Kirk) and he was just mad that he's not going to the shower.

He really is a sweet kid. Always cuddling me and offering to buy me Old Navy balls. Love him!

He thought you called it 'poke-a-dot' not 'polka dot'.

If you re-read the email I sent you about the cake, I did warn you that my little boy did the same thing. It's too hard for them to resist! Though, my little boy did his handy work to the cake after it was served, so I didn't have to do double work!

good point Mary...he thought it was a game.

and Cristy...I was on the phone with Mom when I caught him in the act. I told her "Cristy warned me about this!" ...he took advantage of me while I was occupied!

Lindsay & Amy...I agree we can't even mention Old Navy without some mention of the balls. We have them all through our house & there's always at least 1 rolling around in the car.

Hang in there! It's a good thing our kids are cute and we love them to bits, right?
